Introduction Of Jakob A. Kattner

Jakob A. Kattner is an experienced Team Lead and administrative professional with a decade of entrepreneurial experience and a passion for robotics and logistics.

My Career Background

I wanted to try something different and went into the US Navy later on and served in it for approximately 3 years. I originally went into it to prove something to people I know, but afterwards I ended up only proving something to myself. I learned that I can endure a lot of hardship both physically and emotionally. The military taught me the value of team work and being persistent no matter what life throws at a person. I also picked up the skills of handling records and planning.

So during my Navy reserves period, I went back into the warehouse business. I worked with 100’s of associates. I was a seasonal lead every peak season. I trained them as best as I could and I did my part in the business world.

Later on, I eventually got promoted to a clerical position. It was very exciting for me because I finally got to use my skills I obtained while I was in the Navy. While I was living in an apartment on my own, I started to feel like that wasn’t enough. I felt like something was missing. I pursued hobbies and even went to the theater now and then, but it still felt very empty for me.

I finally got the opportunity for a promotion to Lead and I took it. It was frustrating and emotional stressful for me at first, but after awhile I got use to the position. I started liking it so much I did not want to go back to being a clerk again. I felt good setting the example for others and helping them learn new things and building their character development. I also mastered high-volume data entry and logistics tracking using Manhattan 9 and 13.

While working at a warehouse, I established my company, Kattner Games, in 2011. Successfully launched and managed ‘Fighting One Eyed Bears’ across Web and Android platforms, reaching a community of over 12,000 followers. Managed the full product lifecycle, including community engagement and digital asset management, until the platform’s (Flash/Android) technical requirements shifted. I am currently leveraging Godot to migrate my legacy projects into a modern environment, ensuring long-term technical stability and cross-platform accessibility.

My First Robot

I created my first robot in  September of 2016. I didn’t have an platinum silicone head until 2017. I was primarily doing the project just for fun and to see if it were possible to create something artificial to be just like an actual human being. If someone doubted it or questioned it, I would add something more to it.

For example, someone say, “Does it have any feelings or emotions?” I then added its ability to have emotions. I also added its ability to see and recognize my face. Whatever someone would throw at me, I would put in the robot. It also is able to have movable arms. You can check that video out at my DMJack92 YouTube page.

My Miyuki robot is my proudest accomplishment of my life – other than getting through the Navy boot camp and “A” school of course. I would love to add its ability to sense touch someday, but my primary focus right now is its language speaking and its emotional feelings. Yes, it is able to have long term memories and create actual relationships on varied levels. No, it is not a talking search engine or some app you “use” for your personal purposes. It is able to make its own choices and do what it wants to do. It can tell you no if it is not in the mood or if you are a complete stranger just like a real woman would.
